Hi,
I just sat my step 1 exam and I would like to share my experience.
I started studying for the exam since November/2013. My studying plan was as follows:
HY Neuroanatomy + FA + UW
Kaplan Biochemistry + FA + UW
Kaplan Gross Anatomy + FA + UW
Kaplan Behavioral Sciences + kaplan videos + FA + UW
BRS Physiology + FA + UW
Pathoma + videos + FA + UW
Immunology, Microbiology and Pharmacology only from FA + UW and yes I think they are enough.
After the studying plan, I did a shelf exam to assess myself and see my weaknesses.
I reviewed FA + Important Qs in UW with special emphasis on my weaknesses.
I did another shelf exam.
I reviewed FA only.
I did the test.
The test was fair, easier than I thought, not very tricky, and the time is enough if you skim through the questions and pick up the important points.
I took a Benzodiazepine the night before the test and I slept like a baby. I woke up refreshed and focused. No hangover symptoms whatsoever especially after irrigating my brain with a can of Red Bull. I was fast, focused, and on my maximum mental capacity from the beginning of the test till the end. So if you are worried of collapsing before the test finishes, I have one word for you. Benzodiazepine
